Inovasi Pusat Pelatihan Perdesaan Swadaya (P4S) Sumber Rejeki Kulonprogo, DIY, yang menghadirkan Gulamut, alias Gula Semut, mampu menarik perhatian.
Korankalimantan.com – Keunggulan serta potensi Gulamut dikupas habis dalam Bertani On Cloud (BOC) Volume 237 yang digelar BPPSDMP di P4S Sumber Rejeki, Kamis (12/10/2023).
BOC adalah salah satu program penyebaran informasi mengenai dunia pertanian yang hadir secara rutin setiap minggu dengan topik bahasan yang menarik dan menambah wawasan.
BOC merupakan program interaktif yang diinisiasi oleh Badan Penyuluhan dan Pengembangan SDM Pertanian (BPPSDMP) dalam upaya menunjukan dunia pertanian itu menguntungkan, sekaligus menarik minat generasi muda untuk terjun menggeluti usaha pertanian.
Pada edisi volume 237, BOC mengambil tema Gulamut (Gula Semut) Jogja Semakin Mendunia.
Kepala Badan Penyuluhan dan Pengembangan SDM Pertanian (BPPSDMP), Dedi Nursyamsi, yang membuka secara daring, mengaku antusias dengan adanya BOC edisi kali ini, yang mengangkat potensi gula semut, yang ada di Kulonprogo.
“Potensi gula di Indonesia sangat luar biasa, sayang kalo tidak dimanfaatkan dengan sebaik-baiknya. Gula termasuk komoditas penting yang dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat. Sumber gula itu sendiri yang utama berasal dari tebu dari aren dan juga dari kelapa. Satu sama lain saling melengkapi,” jelas Dedi.
“Potensi mengembangkan gula semut di indonesia sangat terbuka. Mengapa? Karena gula semut berasal dari kelapa, kita hitung Indonesia negara kepulauan dengan garis pantai yang terbentang luas, dan garis pantai itu didominasi dengan pohonan kelapa, membuat jenis gula ini sangat potensial untuk menarik keuntungan dan sumber devisa ekspor,” tambahnya.
Menurut Dedi, lahan gula semut punya potensi ekonomi yang luar biasa, sehat dan menyehatkan. Dengan pengolahan lebih lanjut pasti bisa menjadi penghasil devisa ekspor.
“Olahan gula cair, padat, serbuk seperti gula semut, memilki kualitas gizi yang keren dengan kadar glikemik yang rendah sehingga lebih sehat cocok untuk yang sedang diet dan rasanya pun enak,” ujar Dedi.
Keberadaan Pusat Pelatihan Perdesaan Swadaya (P4S) sendiri penting sebagai pusat pembelajaran bagi petani yang harus dapat menghadirkan inovasi-inovasi yang dibutuhkan sektor pertanian.
P4S Sumber Rejeki yang berlokasi di Penggung RT 70, RW 21, Hargorejo, Kokap, Kabupaten Kulonprogo DIY, merupakan P4S Binaan Balai Besar Pelatihan Kesehatan Hewan (BBPKH) Cinagara yang merupakan UPT Badan Penyuluhan dan Pengembangan SDM Pertanian (BPPSDMP)
Sebagai informasi, P4S Sumber Rejeki merupakan salah satu objek yang dikunjungi dalam rangkaian kunjungan kerja Kepala BPPSDMP di akhir September 2023.
Dalam kesempatan itu, Ketua P4S Sumber Rejeki, Dinar Astuti, sekaligus pemilik produk ADANA Gula Semut, menjelaskan proses dan varian produk gula semut yang diolahnya bersama P4S.
Dinar termotivasi untuk terus melakukan inovasi dan terobosan-terobosan dari gula semut yang dipadukan dengan kearifan lokal sehingga menjadi suatu model bisnis yang menjanjikan.
